The East Midlands Innovation brand features a life-like representation of tools, diagrams, notes and associated material, brought together to convey the innovative environment promising a bright future for the region and its businesses, universities and public sector.
 
East Midlands Innovation.

Having originally created the brand for emda's East Midlands Innovation, we were now asked to help deliver a wide range of materials, of numerous shapes and sizes, in an equally innovative folder with a real 'wow factor'.

As the brand's graphical elements represent real world objects, we developed a complex mechanism with hidden pockets to allow brochures, crib cards and strategy documents to actually interact with the illustrated environment depicted on the folder.

 

Even though capacity was almost 20mm and the internal face featured die cut inserts for A5 and A6 brochures, clever strengthening through folds enabled us to maintain the use of the brand's guideline paper stock - Think4 Bright, from Howard Smith. Able to hold over 150 pages of combined content, the folder was a complete success and captured the essence of the innovation theme perfectly.

 

With a paper that can often need a week to dry, we again trusted the print to the guys at Pyramid Press (that name seems to crop up quite often - did we mention they were particularly good at printing?), who not only produced a fantastic product, but also helped sell our ideas with numerous full scale mock-ups.
