venuenottinghamshire 2008-2009
"...it needs to show everything the county has to offer, be different - how about an unusual binding - and have real world functionality that will set it apart from the offers of everyone around us. Do you think it's achievable given the budget..."

venuenottinghamshire 2008/2009.

What really helps to make a standout publication? Well, in this case it was a client with a clear vision and a real understanding of how design can lift a project from run of the mill to something quite special. A directory of conference, meeting and event facilities within the county was produced for Experience Nottinghamshire to a tight budget, whilst utilising an interesting binding mechanism and throw-out, double sized leaves.

The result of a complete re-design, venuenottinghamshire is a huge departure from the style and format of previous years. Feature illustration throughout the directory helps encapsulate the diversity and scope of the county's offer as a business and leisure destination, whilst reminding readers of the history and heritage that ensures Nottinghamshire is referred to the world over. Throw-out maps of county or city can be considered as readers choose their perfect venue, aided by helpful tips and advice on hosting the perfect event.

Quarter one of the 2008/9 year was very promising for the bureau. A new look targeted campaign led to three significant conferences being secured for autumn 2009 - the European Union of Tourism Officers, European Cities Marketing and the Society of Chief Architects in Local Authorities. After four months of trading, confirmed business for 2008/9 was already worth 75% of the total value of bookings from the previous year.

Print was taken care of by our friends at Pyramid Press whose attention to detail with regards the finishing and help in maximising the budget, ensured the project was talked about as soon as it hit the shelves.
